Hauteluce, in the heart of Beaufortain, has kept its charming character of a savoyan village grouped around its onion style church tower. With the Mont-Blanc as background, the skier has direct access to two ski resorts: Les Saisies and Contamines-Monjoie-Hauteluce, The walkers, whether by foot or on snowshoes, will discover well-indicated and easy-going paths in the forest or on the mountain pastures.
The chalet is located on the sunny slope above the village of Hauteluce in the hamlet of Les Evettes. This typical small hamlet is composed of 6 residencial and 3 holidays chalets.
It is reached by road to the local of the ski lift (Le Chozal). This skilift, which is located about 1 km downhill from the chalet, gives access to the ski pistes of Les Saisies. Alternatively the free-of-charge skibus will take the skier and non-skier up to center of the ski resort.
The ski resort of Les Saisies was extended in 2006 to Praz-sur-Arly near to Megève. During the Olympic Games of 1992 its nordic parc hostet the Biathlon events. Two other ski resorts are visible from the chalet: Les Contamines-Monjoies-Hauteluce at the end of the valley under the Mont Blanc and Arèches-Beaufort in the south.
In Hauteluce there is a post office, a grocer, a stationary shop, three restaurants and the Hostel-Restaurant "La Ferme du Chozal" where English is spoken.
